Massage therapy is a government-regulated health care practice. Registered Massage Therapists have either a 2- or 3-year diploma from a recognized massage therapy school. Only members of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario are permitted to use the title Massage Therapist or Registered Massage Therapist and use the letters MT or RMT after their names.
Massage therapists are experts in helping you with problems occurring in the soft tissue and joints of your body. After assessing your situation, a therapist treats and prevents physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints by manipulation that develops, maintains, rehabilitates or augments physical function, or relieves pain.
Massage therapists serve with integrity, and are professional health care providers committed to respecting their clients and putting their best interests first.
